KEARNEY, Nebraska — Resurrection Fighting Alliance (RFA) announced today that it has partnered with Sherdog.com, the #1 Mixed Martial Arts website in the world, to stream RFA 2 -Yvel vs. Alexander which is set to take place on Friday, March 30th, 2012 at the Viaero Event Center in Kearney, Nebraska.

Fresh off its successful debut event in December featuring Jens Pulver vs. Tim Elliott, RFA’s sophomore effort features an action-packed, star filled lineup, which will stream live for free on Sherdog.com beginning at 8 p.m. EST / 5 p.m. PST on the evening of Friday, March 30th.

“I am very excited to have the opportunity to team up with Sherdog.com, the world’s most popular Mixed Martial Arts website. As a company, we explored many options to bring this action-packed card to the MMA fans and Sherdog was the best avenue to reach the most fans,” said RFA president Wayne Harriman.

RFA 2 -Yvel vs. Alexander will be headlined by an action-packed light-heavyweight clash between two of MMA's most feared strikers. Gilbert "The Hurricane" Yvel returns to the RFA and the 205-pound division to square off with Nebraska's own Houston "The Assassin" Alexander.

Two MMA pioneers will also be in action at RFA 2. Former UFC heavyweight champion and MMA legend Maurice "Mo" Smith at age 50 will drop down to the light-heavyweight division, while women's MMA trailblazer Tara LaRosa will also be in action. LaRosa has only lost once via Split Decision in nearly 9 years and is widely considered the best flyweight fighter in women's MMA history.

In heavyweight action, undefeated Bellator veteran Justin Frazier will make his RFA debut against fellow Bellator veteran Derrick "The Black Beast" Lewis. The fight card will also feature the return of Tim Elliott, who will be fighting fresh off the momentum of his highlight reel flying knee KO of former UFC lightweight champion Jens Pulver in the main event of RFA 1 in December. Elliott will drop down to the talent-rich flyweight division to face the very experienced Josh Rave.

Also in flyweight action, Jerry Shapiro of Las Vegas will make his long-awaited professional MMA debut against Nebraska native Kevin Gray. Shapiro is a brown belt in jiu-jitsu from Cobra Kai and a Tuff-N-Uff bantamweight champion, while Gray is a decorated collegiate wrestler and state powerlifting champion.

The main card will also feature a border rivalry between bantamweights, as Aaron "The Cyborg" Ely of Kansas returns to the RFA to face Laramie "The Contract Killer" Shaffer of Nebraska. Ely is coming in fresh off his 63-second submission win at RFA 1 in December, while Shaffer will be carrying the momentum of a unanimous decision victory in January.
